The Government of Pakistan has announced that adult (over 15 years of age) Machine Readable Passports (MRP) are now valid for 10 years and child passports (below 15 years of age) are valid for 5 years.

To apply for a machine readable passport, you DO NOT need to fill in an application form, the applicant needs to physically present themselves to one of the five Pakistani Consulate offices with the relevant documents as the application is done there and then by the Consulate themselves.

Please note that alongside the documents required, you MUST have a VALID NADRA card e.g NICOP before applying for a MRP.

Important Information for Nottinghamshire residents:

• Machine readable passports are processed at the Birmingham consulate for Nottinghamshire residents.

Manual Passports

Manual Passports are being discontinued in favour of MRPS however there may be exceptional circumstances in which a Manual Passport may be issued.
